a smarter branded house
Project: Developing a brand design and experience to increase the number of visitor and generate more awareness of an interactive museum experience.
Client: A birthplace museum
The Challenge: Visitor numbers to this museum were steady but insufficient to deliver long term sustainability. Research identified a low level of awareness of and interest in the subject of this museum, except among aficionados of the subject. Yet visitor feedback was overwhelmingly positive and it was seen as a ‘hidden gem’ with more going on that its name would suggest. In essence how to increase visitor numbers.
The Solution: Using our 3-D approach of Discovery, Design and Delivery we re-positioned the house as a Victorian House allowing the museum to tell the story of a typical Victorian House and those worked and lived there, and to tell the story of the original subject in a broader historical context.
To do this we constructed a powerful emotional and rational brand narrative to inform the development of the brand design and the brand experience, identifying signature actions to symbolise the new proposition to be delivered to support the relaunch and subsequently.
The Outcome: Early results show a 5% increase in visitor numbers to date.
